VILLA MARIA
SARDINIA, ITALY
(Sleeps 10)
Newly available this year, Villa Maria is built into a rocky hillside on Sardinia's beautiful north-east Costa Smeralda. It's an area to avoid in stifling August, when the Italian glitterati descend en masse, so consider visiting in May or June, when the prices are far lower and the weather is usually blissful. The house divides neatly into two interconnecting but self-contained levels with separate kitchens and living areas, which works well for two families holidaying together. It's not an ideal choice for younger children, however, because of steep drops at the side of the pool area.
Plus point Next door to Villa Maria is another villa called Lu Triuzzu which can accommodate six people - a useful 'add-on' for extended families or larger groups.
Price £2,639 to £5,278
