09 June 2010 - Corsican Places - Press Office
Corsican Places is pleased to announce that it was successful in winning the title of ‘Best Destination Specialist Tour Operator 2010’ at The French Travel Trade Awards held at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London on Saturday 5 June. The award ceremony – organized by Atout France, France Tourism Development Agency, formerly known as Maison de la France – followed the Agency’s biennial Spring/Summer Workshop, specifically designed for British Tour Operators and wholesalers programming France or aiming to develop a French programme.

Corsican Places was shortlisted in its category with three other travel companies, but was declared the winner by a panel of judges, which included representatives from ABTOF, P&V, Rail Europe, SeaFrance and the Coach Tourism Council.
Léa Despeysses, head of Trade and Exhibitions for Atout France said:
“Corsican Places has been recognized through this award for its contribution to the promotion of the French region of Corsica and its strong commitment and creativity during the very challenging economic climate of the past two years. Congratulations to them!”
Corsican Places product manager, Amandine Blanchard, who accepted the award alongside Corsican Places managing director, Chris Rowles said:
“We are delighted with this accolade. With 23 years experience of operating to Corsica we offer more accommodation and flight options to the UK market than our competitors. We continually look to evolve our programme, whilst maintaining both its quality as well as our passion for the island. As of May this year we now charter our own exclusive flight into Calvi with Titan Airways - currently the only flight route into Calvi from the UK.”
