Italy’s Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi’s centre-right PdL party has won the regional elections on Sardinia with candidate Ugo Cappallaci now becoming governor. The country’s centre-left opposition leader, Walter Velroni, has resigned after his Democratic Party candidate Renato Soru was defeated.
