The Gambia finished top of Group A at the African Under 17 Football Championships after beating hosts Algeria 2-0 last night. The other match in the group between Cameroon and Guinea ended in a scoreless draw.
Both Burkina Faso and Niger are already through to the semi-finals but the Group B placements will be decided tonight when they play each other. The semi-finals will be held in Algeria on Sunday 29th March with the final on Thursday 2nd April. By reaching the last four, Gambia also qualify for the Under 17 World Cup to be held in Nigeria in October.
