A Corsican Wine Tasting is being held in London by CIVC, the Corsican trade association for the promotion of the wine-growing sector, in conjunction with the French Trade Commission. The event will be held at La Trouvaille Restaurant (W1) on 11th May 2009 between 10am and 9pm and is open to potential distributors and partners in the UK and Ireland.
Corsica has around 7,000 hectares of land devoted to wine production and each year the island produces about 40 million litres of wine. There are three main grape varieties on Corsica: ciaccarellu, niellucciu and vermentinu which give the wine from different regions of the island distinctive flavours. Wines presented at the event include Domaine Comte Abbatucci, Domaine Vaccelli, Clos Canarelli, Domaine Vecchio, Domaine Santini, Domaine Pero Longo and Clos Culombu.
