Senegal is due to launch a professional football league this week with two divisions. The league will be overseen by a new body, the LSPF, and there will be 18 clubs in the first division and 12 in the second. It is hoped the creation of the new league will produce more international stars such as Patrick Vieira and El Hadji Diouf and help the country’s prospects in international competitions.
