The fifteen edition of the International Drama Festival is underway in Mindelo on the Cape Verdian island of Sao Vicente. The “Mindelact” festival opened on Thursday attracting twenty one drama groups from Cape Verde, Angola, Mali, Mozambique, Brazil, Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium and the Czech Republic.
The festival runs from 10th to 20th September and the highlight is expected to be the Theatre des Bouffes du Nord by the internationally acclaimed film director Peter Brook. The festival also includes a show Hand Made featuring Carlos Martinez, acknowledged as one of the greatest mime artists in the world.
