Senegal Independence Day

On Sunday 4th April Senegal celebrated 50 years of Independence and around the world its citizens marked the occasion. In Senegal itself hundreds witnessed the unveiling of the controversial Monument of the African Renaissance in Dakar – at almost fifty metres high this bronze statue has cost millions.
